Delivery Day — What to Expect When Your Dumpster Arrives
First time renting a dumpster? Here's exactly what happens on delivery day — from the truck pulling up to the dumpster sitting in your driveway. No surprises, no confusion, just a smooth drop-off.
Quick Answer
On delivery day, clear 60 feet of straight-line approach and 23 feet of vertical clearance for the roll-off truck. The driver backs in, tilts the bed, and rolls off the dumpster in about 10 minutes. You don't need to be home — just ensure the area is clear. Place plywood under contact points to protect asphalt driveways.
Before the Truck Arrives
Clear the delivery area. You need about 60 feet of straight clearance for the truck to back in and roll off the dumpster. Move cars, bikes, trash cans, and anything else out of the path. If overhead wires or tree branches are low, let us know in advance — our trucks need about 23 feet of vertical clearance.
Protecting Your Driveway
Roll-off dumpsters are heavy, even empty. If you're concerned about your driveway, we can place plywood boards under the contact points to distribute weight and prevent marks. Just ask when you book. Concrete driveways handle dumpsters fine. Asphalt driveways in direct Florida sun can be more susceptible to marks from the weight.
The Delivery Process
Our driver backs the truck into position, tilts the bed, and rolls the dumpster off onto your designated spot. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. You don't need to be home — just make sure the area is clear and tell us exactly where you want it placed. We'll send a photo confirmation when it's dropped.
Loading Tips for Day One
Start loading from the back of the dumpster and work forward. Break down large items to maximize space. Distribute weight evenly — don't pile everything on one side. And remember: the swing door on the back opens for easy walk-in loading of heavy items. Close it before tossing anything over the sides.
